Applying For Skills Bootcamp Funding

If you are currently employed, but you want your new licence to allow you to move to another employer or you may be unemployed. This option is fully funded by the government, but you must have a connection with a new employer (not an employment agency) before you can apply.

LGV/HGV Skills Bootcamps are government-funded training courses designed for individuals new to driving large goods vehicles (LGV/HGV), or for those seeking to advance with license progression.

Three courses, referred to as ‘PATHWAYS’, are available.

  1. Novice to CAT C (Class 2) – PATHWAY A
  2. Novice to CAT C+E (Class 1) – PATHWAY B
  3. CAT C to CAT C+E (Class2 to Class 1) – PATHWAY D

To successfully complete your Skills Bootcamp journey, can you commit to all of the below:

Attend an ONLINE induction.

  • Complete 20 hrs of ONLINE theory learning.
  • Be able to take time off to attend a medical & theory tests.
  • 5 days practical driver training (Novice to CAT C or CAT C upgrade to CAT C+E)
  • 10 days practical driver training (Novice to CAT C+E)

The training above takes place over approximately 16 weeks. Funding rules apply, therefore progress is monitored throughout and failure to abide by these requirements will result in withdrawal from the Skills Bootcamp journey.

    Cancellation for Bootcamp LGV Funded Training:

    Failure to attend, give appropriate notice or complete your LGV practical training will result in the full commercial rate being charged at the following rates:
