Applying For Skills Bootcamp Funding

LGV/HGV Skills Bootcamps are government-funded training courses designed for individuals new to driving large goods vehicles (LGV/HGV), or for those seeking to advance with license progression.

Three courses, referred to as ‘PATHWAYS’, are available.

  1. Novice to CAT C (Class 2) – PATHWAY A
  2. Novice to CAT C+E (Class 1) – PATHWAY B
  3. CAT C to CAT C+E (Class2 to Class 1) – PATHWAY D

Funding Options Explained

Option 1. You are employed and your current employer has a new job role for you once you have completed your training and gained a new licence. This option is partially funded by the government, your employer will be asked to contribute 10% (if they have under 250 employees) or 30% (if they have over 250 employees).

Option 2. You are employed, but you want your new licence to allow you to move to another employer or you may be unemployed. This option is fully funded by the government, but you must have connected with a new employer (not an employment agency) before you can apply.

Option 3. You are self-employed and you want your new licence to develop/enhance your business. This option is fully funded by the government, but you will need to provide information regarding the future benefits to you business.
