Apply For Skills Bootcamp Funding

Are you a self-employed individual wanting to use your new licence to develop/enhance your business?

If so, you may be eligible to  government funding to help you do this.

LGV/HGV Skills Bootcamps are government-funded training courses designed for individuals new to driving large goods vehicles (LGV/HGV), or for those seeking to advance with license progression.

Three courses, referred to as ‘PATHWAYS’, are available.

  1. Novice to CAT C (Class 2) – PATHWAY A
  2. Novice to CAT C+E (Class 1) – PATHWAY B
  3. CAT C to CAT C+E (Class2 to Class 1) – PATHWAY D

To successfully complete your Skills Bootcamp journey, can you commit to all of the below:

  • Attend an ONLINE induction.
  • Complete 20 hrs of ONLINE theory learning.
  • Be able to take time off to attend a medical & theory tests.
  • 5 days practical driver training (Novice to CAT C or CAT C upgrade to CAT C+E)
  • 10 days practical driver training (Novice to CAT C+E)

The training above takes place over approximately 16 weeks. Funding rules apply, therefore progress is monitored throughout and failure to abide by these requirements will result in withdrawal from the Skills Bootcamp journey.

    Applications are welcomed from self-employed individuals. The details below outline the criteria.

    Your current business must benefit as a result of the training provided

    Examples of this are the expansion of a courier business to larger vehicles, groundworks companies being able to move plant, farming businesses being able to move their own livestock etc.

    Once you have completed your application it will be assessed and you we will contacted to discuss this further.

    As you are staying with your current employer after training the Department for Education requires your employer to make a contribution to the funding.

    Course Name - Novice to CAT C+E (Class 1/Artic)

    Applications are welcomed from self-employed individuals. The details below outline the criteria.

    Your current business must benefit as a result of the training provided

    Cancellation for Bootcamp LGV Funded Training:

    Failure to attend, give appropriate notice or complete your LGV practical training will result in the full commercial rate being charged at the following rates:
