Jim Parker shared an inspiring example of how the programme has directly benefited Boleyn Recovery’s operations. One team member, who aspired to progress into heavy vehicle recovery, lacked the necessary HGV licence. Thanks to the Skills Bootcamp, this employee was able to complete their licence training months earlier than planned.
This early completion accelerated their professional development, allowing them to attend additional industry courses, shadow experienced recovery technicians, and take on more responsibilities. The result? A significant career boost, with a salary increase of over £20,000 per year, and enhanced operational capacity for the business.
Without the programme, this opportunity might not have been possible, or it would have been delayed, limiting both the employee’s potential and the company’s ability to expand its services.
Looking ahead, Bolyn Recovery is planning to use the Skills Bootcamp to onboard and train new employees. Jim explained, “It’s always been tough to take someone on without a vocational licence, as it’s a big investment in training costs and wages while they train. This programme gives us the confidence to commit to promising candidates and help them transition into the industry.”
